In which issues concerning the profession of philosophy are bitched about
Last Minute Questions: I just noticed that there are receptions on both the 28th and 29th. Are both of these "the smoker?" Am I expected to talk with interviewing departments both nights? Also, I have on interview on the 30th before either reception. Is it weird for me to try to find those folks at the reception?Word Verification: "Crypol", as in "I crypol when I think how bad I could screw up."
I think departments can have tables at both receptions. You are not obligated to go to either one (although rumor has it some SCs really expect you to go). In my experience (one smoker, last year), it is hard to actually talk to anyone at the table, unless you get there before any other candidates latch on. I should think you'd be at a special disadvantage if you haven't formally interviewed yet. Personally, I wouldn't want my first impression to be made in a socially awkward setting like the smoker where you might only get to talk to one member of the SC. You might also find yourself being unexpectedly "supplementally" interviewed (it happened to me).
Zero you are a fuckstick! Way too often you don't publish comments and I am not speaking of mine alone. These aren't even bad comments. Just those your ignorant ass feels are poor. Your judgment tells me you are not in for a jo
