New News in the Philosophy Web-O-Sphere

There have been some recent developments in our little corner of the tubes, which I thought were worth mentioning:

Carolyn Dicey Jennings is collecting tenure-track, post-doc, and VAP hiring information at NewAPPs, here.

Prophilosophy, which emerged in 2012 as an alternative to Leiter's blog before petering out last year, is back. Prophilosophy can be reached at prophilosophy@gmail.com.

Additionally, Justin Weinberg has started another new professional philosophy news blog, the Daily Nous. The Daily Nous can be reached at "dailynouseditor [at] gmail.com". There is also a Facebook page.

Cue Leiter running tons of discussion threads to garner traffic and re-establish himself as the focal point.

@ 359 - Yup. That sounds about right.

Thanks for letting your readership know about Daily Nous!

Wishing Justin the best... Sadly the rankings are coming and all eyes will be on Leiter

The jobs thread seems to be moving to the front more frequently than usual. IMO, it'd be nice if candidates chose to post their jobs at NewApps instead.

I think we should rally around Daily Nous. It has the advantage of not being anonymously run (and not having a history of "petering out").

I think it is important to have a cite like this: just news and updates with the occasional topical discussion and no editorial "commentaries". Then you can go to NewApps or (ugh) Leiter if you want something more than the news.

My hopes are still pinned on Laughing Philosopher. But to each her own.

[shudder] I'd take Leiter any day.

Ah, but you probably wouldn't get this on Leiter:

Thanks for the link, 4:30. Suddenly, the Colorado story makes way more sense.
